Synopsis

In Held Shape/Mold Me Tender, the second film in a diptych complementing the short alter exo, Stéphanie Beaudoin carries the weight of suffocating relationships outward — into the tentative hands of healing, sensuality, and sisterhood.

This work is part of a film series where narrative threads and movement scores — for both bodies and camera — are directly inspired by the curves of infrared spectroscopy graphs (chemistry). The artist analyzed her own bodily fluids in the context of both socially sanctioned relationships and those reimagined outside of conventional molds, translating parts of this analysis into movement and image.
