Synopsis

COMING OF AGE is a journey of self-discovery and a poetic reflection on the present moment, contemplating the innocence of the past, the awareness of the present, and the uncertainties of the future. Four complex characters attempt to bring consciousness to the unconscious forces that inhabit them, using movement as both a vehicle and a tool to access their inner worlds and authentic selves. Through four distinct tableaux, the performers navigate together through the temporality of memory and the psychological and physical states evoked by sensation, inhabiting real or imagined portraits of themselves.

This work explores the transition from innocence to awareness in its many forms and interpretations. It examines the physical and mental transformations that arise from an individual's conscious and unconscious choices, as well as the consequences that follow. How does a person move from purity to corruption? From naïveté to mistrust? From mischief to innocence? What are the forces and catalysts that shape these transformations?
